Education in Excellence with a British qualification
A message from the President of North College
North College, one of the oldest independent colleges in Greece, operates under Greek Law as a not-forprofit Liberal Arts College. You can study in English at North College for British Higher National Diplomas, Bachelor Degrees and Postgraduate and Post-experience qualifications that are validated by Edexcel and by British universities. Through these arrangements you can achieve a British qualification at a fraction of the cost of study in the UK.
Located in Thessaloniki, one of Europe’s most historic and exciting cities, North College is dedicated to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses that match the high quality and standards for which British education is famous world-wide.
Enrolling at North College means entering a world of education, creativity and culture. It is a place where leaders are born. During our long history we have witnessed and shared the concerns of students who seek excellence in education and we have aided thousands of young people in achieving their goals. Our students come from Greece and other parts of Europe – one of the world’s largest economies, and we also welcome students from other parts of the world who bring to our campus a great variety of cultural backgrounds to share with other students. What all of our students have in common is their commitment to learning and achievement.
A great strength of North College is that it is one of the main education institutions in Greece to develop well-skilled and qualified professionals that meet the requirements of potential employers. In total, 90-95% of our graduates achieve a position in their chosen field within a few months of graduation. Our graduates have succeeded in achieving substantial careers and I am proud that North College fostered their ambitions, cultivated their talents, and helped them maximise their potential. Our graduates are multilingual, employable, and able to progress in international employment markets.
Our success is not a matter of luck. It is the result of outstanding work, supportive staff, expert tuition, long experience, a professional attitude, and the desire for a high quality output. So, although our graduates' continuous success makes us proud, it does not surprise us. You see, for the past 30 years every single North College student has been prepared for leadership - this is the spirit of our motto Meis Viribus Confido – "I trust my Abilities".
In addition to gaining a first-class education, North College students are part of a harmonious social and cultural community of staff, students, graduates and family. All share a sense of belonging to this unique academic community and create a productive and positive academic and social environment. I hope that after reading the information, you will want to be a part of the North College student community.
I warmly welcome you and I wish you every success. President & Principal of North College.

Location: The City of Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki is a great place to be a student. The whole city is full of life, with wide tree lined avenues, parks, and squares; commercial streets and flashy shop window displays; historic buildings and old traditional houses lie beside blocks of modern flats. The student community of the city is one of the most active and numerous in Greece. The city is the site of several universities, colleges, research centres and libraries that serve the needs of students for research and learning. It is also a major port, the trade route to the Balkans, as well as being a leading European trading centre. The city is also home to one of the ancient world’s best known philosophers, Aristotle – who taught Alexander the Great, therefore it is obvious that you’ll get a good education in this city. And you’ll also have a fantastic social and leisure time in a city where the young people ‘hang-out’ till the early hours of the morning, talking, debating and enjoying themselves in some of the hundreds of coffee bars, clubs, bars, tavernas specialising in seafood, ouzeries (serving a traditional drink) and restaurants with chairs and tables on the pavements and in the squares that you can easily find throughout the city and especially along a 15 kilometre length of the harbour road. Greece is where the Olympic Games were started (they’re back here in 2007), so there are also lots of opportunities for those who enjoy sport. The city is close to some of Europe’s best swimming beaches and holiday resorts along with concert halls, cinemas – even an outside cinema that takes advantage of the warm evenings and glorious weather. There’s no shortage of leisure activities, many of which will cost nothing to enjoy!
The 2007 Olympic Games emblem portrays an olive wreath, or kotinos, a branch from an olive tree intertwined in a circle. The emblem is a reference to the ancient Olympic Games, where the kotinos was the official award of Olympic champions. In addition, the olive was the sacred tree of Athens. The colours of the emblem symbolise the shades of white and blue found in the Greek countryside.

The Campus North College programmes of study operate in one campus, the Metropolitan Campus, on the outskirts of Thessaloniki, quite close to the airport. The Metropolitan Campus is an area of 10,000m2 and is located in the suburbs of Thessaloniki. The main building of 6.000m2 consists of 12 classrooms (which can operate in four different time zones per day), offices and meeting rooms. The library and laboratories occupy two extensive areas with a 3 to 1 student study space ratio. In the nearby buildings, are a Sports Centre, and a Student Refectory (Cafeteria), offering a variety of food and drink and adequate space for relaxation and socialising throughout the academic year.
