Barcelona is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Mediterranean cities. Wandering along its streets, you will find evidence of its Romanic past, relive the medieval ages and enjoy the artistic creations of Gaudi, Picasso and Miró. Among European cities, Barcelona is known for its cultural activities and events and dynamic economy. The strategic lay-out and history give the city and its people an enterprising and cosmopolitan flair. The 1992 Olympic Games brought about the creation of new and modern landscapes and a complete facelift to the harbour. Research:
Among the professional team of CETA, a significant number of professors are involved in individual and team research projects related to tourism and other disciplines such as the management of cultural heritage, sociology, environmental studies and economics.

Multimedia Centre:
Opening Hours: from 9:00 – 21:00 daily

• The centre has a variety of journals, magazines, texts, newspapers and documented information as well as cassettes, videos, DVD’s, etc. --- All for student use to borrow or for reference.

Computers with Internet connection are also available in the above hours.

Other Library facilities available to students include use of the University of Girona’s virtual library as well as membership to the city municipal libraries

Bookshop and Photocopy facilities available in the Bookshop Arlequi
Opening Hours 8:00 to 14:00 And 17:00 to 20:00

• Please note that most dossiers prepared by professors are available here as well as course text books, office supplies, etc.

The bookshop also has books, magazines, newspapers and snacks on sale.

Bars and Cafeterias:

• The school has a terrace available for student use with tables and chairs as well as a microwave.
• Other snacks and refreshments and meals are available in any of the following bars or cafeterias which cater to EUT CETA staff and students: La Inca (Republica Argentina St.) Punta Cana (in the park) El Pibe (Republica Argentina St.)

Programs:
CETA offers an up-to-date and flexible study plan that develops and strengthens communication, team work, creativity and imagination in our students.

CETA's 3-year Tourism Degree program offers students the possibility of specializing and choosing those courses that best adapt to their professional profile. Apart from its 3-year Degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, CETA also offers a range of post-graduate programs and specialization courses.

Obligatory courses include: tourism, humanities, foreign languages (English, French, German) company management and computer studies. Second year students can specialize according to their interests in the following areas and can freely choose from a wide range of optional courses :

1. Hotel management.
2. Information and tourist guides.
3. Travel agencies.

Languages are given special care and attention at CETA. English, French and German with Italian, Japanese and Russian offered optionally. We also offer individualized assessment and assistance with available local and international language examinations.

Upon completion of the 3-year degree program, students have the possibility of continuing their education, specializing in the following post-graduate courses and diplomas:

• International Course in Tourism Management and Marketing
• Post-graduate Diploma in Commercialisation and Promotion
• Post-graduate Diploma in Guide-Interpreter

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POST GRADUATE STUDENTS
Our university school, with more than 30 years of experience in university studies of Tourism, takes part in several programs from different entities, which provide study, accommodation and/or research scholarships for our students.

These are the four scholarships programs which our potential Post Graduate students may apply for:

MAE – AECI SCHOLARSHIP

• Granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation.
• Objectives: Accomplishment of studies, academic years, formation stays, research, etc. in Spain and abroad.
• More information: http://www.becasmae.es. Chapter II refers to scholarships for foreigners of Postgraduate, Doctoral and/or Postdoctoral studies in Spain.
• At this moment you may apply for 2007-2006 scholarships.

ALBAN PROGRAM  SCHOLARSHIP

• ALBAN PROGRAM: promotes cooperation in Graduate and Postgraduate studies between European Union countries and 18 South American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
• It covers:
• Studies for South American Postgraduates.
• Specialized formation for South American professionals in some European Union Institutions.
• CETA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF TOURISM is one of the few exclusive university schools able to offer this scholarship to its potential students.

• In agreement with the rules of the program, the periods of education for training will last from six months to three years, depending on the level and on the education or training program.

TURISMO DE ESPAÑA SCHOLARSHIPS

• Granted by the Secretary of State for Commerce and Tourism of Spain
• For foreign students who wish to take Postgraduate Courses in Tourism Areas. These Postgraduate courses must be followed at universities or recognized prestige official centers.

CETA SCHOLARSHIPS

• CETA offers students scholarships to help them with course costs.
• The scholarship must be requested in our center by means of a letter of request stating the student’s economic situation and enclosing the corresponding certifying documents.

Admittance:

1. For CETA’s 3 year Tourism Degree program:
• Students who have completed secondary studies of their country >>
• must have these studies convalidated by the Spanish Ministry of Education in accordance with the existing laws.
• must pass the Selectivity Exam for foreigners which is organized by UNED (Distance University).
2. For Post Gradaute programs:
• Students who have terminated university studies in their country >>
• Students are usually accepted when their studies are similar (for example, Economics, Business, Art History, etc.), but are required to submit their university records, transcripts, course duration and contents, etc., officially translated into Spanish or legalized by the Spanish Embassy in their country.
