The BSC Philosophy

Our Group, which was founded in 1940, has been involved in the Financial, Investment, Hotel and Tourism fields for more than 60 years, in Europe, South America and Africa.

The experience of our administrators, associates and collaborators constitutes the essence of our success, which is based on our permanent determination to improve, so as to attain the best possible results, in terms of the level of services rendered and the revenue earned.

Our major goal is to enable BSC students to leave our Institution as well qualified and efficient professionals apt to face the challenges of the business, financial, banking, hotel and tourism fields.

BSC, IFI and HTI offer MBA and Doctoral Degrees in Business Administration, Finance, Hotel and Tourism Management, Marketing, Human Resources and Organization Behaviour and Information Systems.

The Doctoral Degree Programs are offered in association with Foreign Institutions.

The MBA and Doctoral Programs presuppose academic courses related with the specific fields of study as well as the Elaboration and Presentation of a Thesis.

THE HTI GOALS:
HTI is a Hotel and Tourism Management Institute, whose main goal / aim is to prepare efficiently and successfully the future Managing Directors / General Managers, Managers and Heads of Departments of the Hotel and Tourism Industry, depending upon the needs and goals of each student.

The courses given by HTI prepare the students for executive and managerial positions in the following segments of activity:

• Hotel, Food & Beverage and Entertainment Businesses.
• Tourism orientated businesses such Holiday Resorts, Tourism Offices, Convention Centers, Casinos, Travel Agencies, Rent-a-Car Companies
• Shipping and Airline Companies, Cruise Ships
• Health - care infrastructures, such as Hospitals, Clinics, Old-age Homes, Thermal Centers, etc.

THE IFI GOALS:
IFI is an Investment and Banking Institute, whose main goal / aim is to prepare efficiently and successfully the future Managing Directors / General Managers, Managers and Heads of Departments of the Financial and Investment fields, depending upon the needs and goals of each student.

The courses given by IFI prepare the students for executive and managerial positions in the following segments of activity:

• Central Banks, Ministeries/Departments of Finance and International Agencies.
• Commercial Banks, Investment Banks and Building Societes.
• Fund management Institutions and Stock Markets.
• Corporate Financial Departments, National, Regional and International Agencies.
• Hotel and Tourism Groups / Infrastructure, etc.

THE CSI GOALS:
BSC is starting a new Computer Science Institute. Matching the needs of our competitive world, the CSI students are trained in computer technology as well as Internet and new communication media. CSI offers a panel of diplomas and masters degrees.

MBA MBA - Master of Business Administration in Investment and Banking with emphasis / concentration in "Hotel and Tourism Management"(Duration: 2 Semesters) MBA - Master of Business Administration in Investment and Banking (Duration: 2 Semesters) The candidates must necessarily have completed a Management Diploma in Investment & Banking, or its equivalent, prior to being accepted to this Course. THE CSI PROGRAMMES The CSI programmes are designed to train students to use current and emerging technologies to develop systems that enable business strategy and fulfill business information needs. Two-degree programs are offered: Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) (1 Semester) Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Computer Information Technology (2 Semesters) The PGDCA and MBA are broad-based business programmes, offering the student a spectrum of general business courses. The specialization in Computer Information Technology provides students with the concepts and techniques that form the fundamental base of knowledge. This knowledge is essential to Computer Information Technology professionals in today’s competitive environment.

BSC GENERAL INFORMATION:

Academic Year
Each academic year is composed of one semester (18 weeks) at BSC, followed by 5/7 months of paid in training in the hospitality industry either in Switzerland or abroad.

Beginning of studies at BSC, either: January, April, August or November.

BSC Official Language
The official language at BSC is English, even though the Institute is located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.

Course Attendance
Classes take place 5 days per week and it is compulsory to attend all scheduled classes. A full academic week presupposes about 40 class hours (45 minutes each).

Effective Education & Training
BSC has a qualified team of lecturers specialized in the Hotel and Tourism Fields.

Small Classes
At BSC classes have a maximum of 35 students.This ensures personal and direct interaction between the Lecturers and the students, so as to maximize the results thereof. This dynamic approach enables students to complete their studies in the various fields proposed by our institute.

Practical Training
Professional in-training work experience in hotels, restaurants, bars, discotheques, etc. constitutes an integral part of the BSC programmes. Students are paid monthly gross salaries of approximately SFr. 2,000 / 2,400. The BSC Placement Office assists the students to find their in-training jobs. However, BSC does not guarantee an in-training job, which depends upon the ability of every individual.

Languages
The HTI Language Department :
HTI-IFI offer English and French Programs, which presuppose 3 months of intensive study, at very competitive fees, for whoever wishes to pursue his/her studies in our Institutes.

MBA Master of Business Administration
* Open to Bachelor Degree holders or equivalent

DBA Doctorate of Business Administration
* Open to MBA Graduates or equivalent

Ph. D Doctorate of Philosophy
* Open to DBA Graduates or equivalent

Admission Guidelines:

The following documents are required:

• Completed "Application Form".
• Health Certificate duly signed by the Applicant's personal Doctor.
• High School Certificate or its equivalent.
• 500 TOEFL or its equivalent is recommended for candidates whose native language is not English.
• Upon notification of acceptance, students must forward immediately the advance payment of SFr. 3,000 (non-refundable and deductible from total tuition fees) as per brochure supplement. Upon receipt of the advance payment BSC will forward the formal Letter of Acceptance, which is required by the Swiss Embassy in order to apply for the required student Visa (paid for, by the student).
• BSC reserves the right to revise its fees, rules, regulations and programmes, at any time. Any legal differences arising from this matter must be settled at the court in Vevey (VD) Switzerland.

Entry requirements:

• Intermediate OR 10+2,
• Bachelor degree in any discipline.
